Education often has a bigger impact on society (through our students) than our research. In addition, in contrast to many other fields, every (OR) professor has to teach, and as such can benefit from a forum on OR education. Whereas other EURO forums focus on the sharing of research, the forum on education provides an opportunity to develop and share innovations in our teaching practice. We have two "approaches" in this forum. One related with the specificities of OR Education (or Teaching OR if you prefer) and another one related with teaching or education in general that could be used in teaching OR.
The objectives of the group are:
The forum will enable OR instructors to share education practices and knowledge; e.g., proven innovation in classroom instruction/delivery, new insights into pedagogy, program development, delivery, or assessment, or empirically based analysis of the application of the decision sciences in learning and education.
Existing EURO initiatives focus on research and methodologies. While there have been education streams within conferences this forum will expand the focus on education and allow greater focus on how we can improve education within OR.
