Research of the chair focuses on the development of new models and methods of operations research for the analysis and solution of logistical problems.
Your tasks:
▪ support of research and teaching (supervision of tutorials and exercises, bachelor and master the-ses, administration)
▪ independent scientific work
Your profile:
In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the re-cruitment requirements stipulated in § 57 of the Hochschulgesetz of Rhineland-Palatinate.
▪ a quantitatively oriented, scientific university de-gree with above-average grades, e.g., in the field of (business) mathematics or (business) com-puter science, industrial engineering, econom-ics, each with a specialization/minor in opera-tions research
▪ Master thesis in Operations Research or a closely related research area
▪ profound knowledge in discrete optimization and algorithms and in programming of Operations Research methods (e.g., in C, C++, Python or Java) as well as in software development
▪ very good German and English language skills with the ability to present complex issues in a generally understandable way and to work both independently and in the team

The position is paid according to EG 13 TV-L and to be filled on Sept. 1, 2023. The position is limited to a period of 3 years (continuing employment is possi-ble). The position serves the purpose of academic qualification (doctorate).
