Debasis Dwibedy

Hello, Everyone Greetings of the day!! I am Debasis Dwibedy, an academic researcher and faculty in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla, Odisha, India. I am also associated with Odisha State Open University (OSOU), Sambalpur, Odisha, India as an Academic Counsellor (Teaching Faculty) since 2017. I am interested in R&D on the Theoretical Aspects of Computing. Specifically, I am looking into Scheduling problems. My research interests include emerging scheduling problems that arise in offline, online, and semi-online algorithmic frameworks. I am focusing on the development of mathematical models and algorithms for online scheduling in Multiuser and Multiprocessor Systems. I am also interested in exploring algorithmic fairness in scheduling jobs of multiple users based on the user's objective. In semi-online scheduling, I am focusing on the lookahead models, where besides the processing time of the current job, an online algorithm knows the processing time of some future jobs. The central question that I address is: how much improvement in competitiveness will be gained by considering a look-ahead over the pure online scheduling setting? I have also been exposed to vertex coloring in graphs and contributed algorithms for the online rainbow coloring problem. In addition to academics, I have been serving as a domain expert in several industrial projects related to Scheduling. My expertise includes problem formulation, feasibility studies, mathematical modeling, design, and analysis of algorithms. I am passionate about writing extended surveys (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cor.2021.105646) and review (https://doi.org/10.1145/3544979.3544993) articles in the trendy areas of Computer Science. I joined into Ph.D. as a GATE-qualified full-time research Scholar at VSSUT, Burla in 2016 and submitted my thesis in 2022. I attended the pre-conference school on algorithms and discrete mathematics at IIT, Kharagpur in 2021. I presented scholarly articles at various International conferences organized at IIT Gandhinagar, BITS Pilani Goa, NIT Silchar, and IIEST Shibpur, INDIA. I did my M. Tech in CSE from KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, India in 2013 and completed my B. Tech in CSE from B.IE.T, Bhadrak, BPUT University, Rourkela in 2010. I worked as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. CSE at Maharishi Markandeswar University(MMU), Ambala, Haryana, India, and prior to that I was a senior software Engineer cum HR Executive at Accenture, Gurugram, and a cyber security trainee at NIC Labs, Mohali.
