21st ESICUP Meeting


Meeting aims and objectives

ESICUP gathers practitioners, researchers and Operations Research educators with interests in the area of Cutting and Packing. The purpose of ESICUP is to improve communication among individuals working in this field.


The 21st ESICUP Meeting in Bordeaux (France) is the 2025 regular meeting of ESICUP and follows meetings in Wittenberg (Germany), Southampton (United Kingdom), Porto (Portugal), Tokyo (Japan), L’Aquila (Italy), Valencia (Spain), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Copenhagen (Denmark), La Laguna (Spain), Lille (France), Beijing (China), Portsmouth (UK), Ibiza (Spain), Liège (Belgium), Zoetermeer (The Netherlands), Mexico City (Mexico),2021 – online (ZOOM), Toledo (Spain), Bologna (Italy), and Guimarães (Portugal) last year.

Besides the promotion of publications, the activities of the group include the maintenance of a web page and the organization of meetings. Founded in 1988, during the EURO/TIMS Conference in Paris, by Prof. Gerhard Waescher and Prof. Harald Dyckhoff, it has now around 600 members, registered on the web site, from the entire world. ESICUP is since 2003 a Working Group of the Association of European Operational Research Societies (EURO).

 


Topics of interest

In this meeting contributions dealing with any aspect of the Cutting and Packing problems formulation, resolution or application are welcomed. This includes theoretical achievements, algorithms development and real-world implementations. Different problems, related with Cutting and Packing, are also welcomed. Typical, but not exclusive topics of interest are:

28th February 2025 – Notification of acceptance.

03rd March 2025 – Deadline for EARLY registration.

17th March 2025 – Deadline for LATE registration.

09th – 11th April 2025 – 21st ESICUP Meeting.

The abstracts of the accepted communications will be included into the 21st ESICUP Meeting proceedings book that will be available to download.


Conference fees

Early Registration (before 3rd March 2025): 210 €

Late Registration (before 17th March 2025): 240 €

The fee includes the Welcome buffet on Wednesday evening, the breaks and lunches on Thursday and Friday, the social dinner on Thursday evening and a tour of Bordeaux on Friday afternoon (to be confirmed). The fee also includes the transportation by shuttle bus.

Accompanying person: 140 €

Accompanying person wil have access to the Welcome buffet on Wednesday evening, the social dinner on Thursday evening and a tour of Bordeaux on Friday afternoon (to be confirmed). Registration of accompanying persons is also done in the same ‘Registration and Payment’ page.

Taxi in 45 min. 

How to get to Lectra from Bordeaux:

Shuttle bus (from downtown: 2 allées de Tourny, 33000 Bordeaux) must beselected in the registration form

The hotel will advise/provide a taxi company number but will not reserve for the participants.

 


Accommodation

Recommendation to book a hotel near the shuttle picking point (2 allées de Tourny, 33000 Bordeaux).
Negotiated fare with the Hotel Le Normandie – central Bordeaux with the code ESICUP (limited number of rooms).
