There is a PhD position available at Tilburg University, The Netherlands, for a project funded by the Dutch Scientific Council (NWO), entitled The Synergy between Semidefinite Programming and Approximation Theory.
This concerns a 4-year paid PhD position in the Department of Econometrics and Operations Research. The salary and labor conditions are as specified in the Dutch labor law (CAO) document for Dutch Universities, available at https://www.universiteitenvannederland.nl/en/collective-labour-agreement-of-dutch-universities
Interested candidates are invited to contact the principal investigator, professor Etienne de Klerk ([email protected]). A Masters degree in (Applied) Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related discipline is required, and specialised knowledge of Approximation Theory and/or Semidefinite Programming would be ideal.
